The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commissioned eight projects at the Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State, during activities marking the institution’s maiden convocation ceremony.
The projects include the College Administrative Building, Academic Building, Early Grade Reading Resource Centre and ICT Centre.
Others are the Multimedia Micro-Teaching Laboratory, School of Sciences Building, Science Laboratory Building and School of Languages Building.
Some of the facilities were named after the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Prof. Paulinus Okwelle.
Speaking at the event, the South-West representative on the TETFund Board of Trustees, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, commended the college management for delivering the projects.
Adepoju also applauded Oloyede and Okwelle for their contributions to education development in Nigeria, describing the recognition as well deserved.
He assured that the Board of Trustees would continue to promote quality educational delivery in TETFund beneficiary institutions.
The college also conferred an institutional merit award on TETFund in recognition of its interventions in public tertiary education.
A letter signed by the Provost, Prof. Rafiu Adebayo, stated that the award acknowledged TETFund’s funding framework, infrastructure support, staff capacity building and contributions to academic advancement nationwide.
The letter added that TETFund’s interventions had significantly transformed the college and other tertiary institutions across the country.
