The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, psc, mnips, has commissioned a Police Outpost, Recreation Centre and Cooperative Society established by the Aso Hills Residents and House Owners Association in Aso, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on August 15, 2026, CP Shetima described the projects as a remarkable demonstration of visionary leadership, unity of purpose and community spirit.

He said the facilities would contribute significantly to the safety, wellbeing and socio-economic development of residents, while strengthening the relationship between the community and the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner congratulated the leadership and members of the Aso Hills community for the initiative, stressing that a housing estate is more than a collection of buildings but a community where families live, children are raised, businesses operate and relationships are built.
He said the Police Outpost marked a significant milestone in enhancing the partnership between the police and residents in protecting lives and property.
According to him, the facility would improve police visibility, enhance response to security concerns and provide residents with a closer point of engagement with law enforcement personnel.

CP Shetima, however, advised residents and business owners to exercise caution in their financial dealings with individual police officers.
He stressed that although police personnel are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, members of the public should not provide goods, services or money on credit to individual officers on the assumption that such obligations would be guaranteed or settled by the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner clarified that any financial arrangement entered into with an individual officer remains the personal responsibility of that officer and should not be regarded as an obligation of the Nigeria Police Force.
He explained that the warning was aimed at preventing avoidable disputes and misunderstandings while promoting transparency, mutual respect and a healthy relationship between the police and the community.
Reiterating the Command’s commitment to community policing, CP Shetima said sustainable security could only be achieved through collaboration, mutual trust and the timely sharing of credible information between residents and security agencies.
He urged residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding and security-conscious, and to promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities capable of threatening the peace of the estate.
The Commissioner assured residents that the police would continue to respond professionally and promptly to credible security concerns brought to their attention.
He also commended the Aso Hills Residents and House Owners Association for establishing the Cooperative Society, describing it as an initiative capable of improving the economic wellbeing of members through savings, investment and greater self-reliance.
Similarly, he described the Recreation Centre as a valuable facility that would promote healthy recreation, youth engagement and social interaction while strengthening bonds among residents.
CP Shetima urged members of the community to continue promoting the positive image of Aso Hills and Nasarawa State, stressing the importance of collective efforts in preserving public confidence, peaceful coexistence and the reputation of the estate.
He called on residents to serve as ambassadors of peace, development and responsible citizenship, noting that a peaceful and secure environment would attract investment, protect property and create conducive conditions for families and businesses to thrive.
The Commissioner further assured the community that the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, remains committed to protecting lives and property and maintaining law and order.
He said the Nasarawa State Command would continue to strengthen its partnership with residents, estate managers, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that Aso Hills and the state remain peaceful and secure.
CP Shetima once again congratulated the Aso Hills Residents and House Owners Association on the achievement, commending its leadership and members for their foresight, commitment and contribution to community development.
He expressed hope that the commissioned facilities would continue to serve their intended purposes and remain enduring symbols of unity, development, security and self-reliance for generations to come.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and Patron of Aso Hills Estate, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), and the Etsu Karu, His Royal Highness Pharm. Luka Panya Baba, alongside other distinguished guests.
