Daniel Igali Emerges First Black Member Of United World Wrestling Bureau

Proudly, our Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Bayelsa State cum President of Nigerian Wrestling Federation, Hon. Daniel Igali, has been elected as a member of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Bureau.

He amassed the highest votes of 83 among the six elected bureau members out of 17 contestants during the UWW Ordinary Congress which ended a couple of hours ago in Belgrade, Serbia.

With his election, Hon. Igali, became the first ever black man or woman to serve as a bureau member of the United World Wrestling for a six year renewable term.

The former wrestling olympic gold medalist, Hon. Igali, has sent words of appreciation to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and the Deputy Governor, Sen. Lawrence Ewrudjakpo for their financial and moral support towards achieving this feat.

The United World Wrestling Bureau is the final decision making body of the international wrestling body.
