The Director General of Bayelsa Governors Cup, Mr. Ono Akpe on behalf of the Restoration Starlets Football Club has felicitated with Senator Seriake Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State on the occasion of his 55th birthday at his residence in Abuja.
The DG who paid a surprise visit to the celebrant with trumpeters in the early hours of the morning to wish him a happy birthday said despite the fact that it was meant to be low keyed, the distinguished Senator is a role model and an example of selfless giving to his generation, is worthy of emulation and therefore deserves being celebrated.
While pouring accolades on the celebrant, Mr. Akpe noted that the celebrant has impacted several lives especially in the area of sports and youth development by laying a great foundation for the youths in the state especially with the establishment of the Governor’s Cup and the Restoration Startlets Football Team that recently became the second runner up at the African Youth Cup in Cape Verde, thereby making them the first team from Bayelsa State to have participated in such a prestigious tournament.
In his response while fielding questions from journalists, Sen. Dickson said he is overwhelmed by the surprise gesture of Mr. Ono Akpe and his team ànd is ever thankful to God for his Mercies towards him and his family for showering him with good health and vitality and also being alive to witness another birthday .
The former Governor prayed God to prosper all those who wish him well and also for the stability of Bayelsa State and Nigeria as a whole .
