…. Reiterates  Need  For All Bayelsans To Live  In Peace as Late Madam  Tooinprenyo  Benson-Apiri is laid to rest

Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today joined the Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, his Wife, Patience to pay his last respect to Late Madam Toinprenyo Irene Tuboebinyo Benson-Apiri at the King Koko Square in Nembe.

Madam Apiri who died at the age of 84 years is the Mother-in-law of King A.J Turnah, the Paramount Ruler of Opume Kingdom in Ogbia Local Government Area.

Other dignitaries present were, Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Col. Edor Obi(rtd), Former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd), former Ministers, Members of the National Assembly, Serving and Former, and other top Government functionaries.

“First I will like to thank God for today, for the Bible teaches us that there is time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die, and today we are all gathered to give honour to our departed Mother who have seen, lived and conquered and today, she is called back home.

“Let me on behalf of the government and good people of Bayelsa State express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family that God will grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.

“I will also like to thank God for the peace he has restored in Bayelsa State.

It is like a miracle, but we are the same people. Politics will come and go but we remain sons and daughters of Bayelsa State and we must unite and love ourselves so that, as a people, we will continue to live as brothers and sisters”, Gov. Diri stated”.
