… As  PDP LG Tour Hits  Idemili North

Valentine Ozigbo, the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 Anambra State governorship election, received a rousing welcome on Wednesday, September 23, 2021, when he visited Idemili North as part of the ongoing PDP local government campaign tour.

The campaign rally, which took place at St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church Field, Nkpor, saw thousands troop out to reassure Mr. Ozigbo of their unwavering support for his candidacy.

While addressing the animated crowd, Ozigbo reassured the people of Idemili North that his administration would foster a productive partnership between the government and the people. He recalled how the former governor, Mr. Peter Obi, set developmental standards during his tenure and promised to do more when elected.

“Ndi Idemili North, thank you so much for this show of love. I am so overwhelmed with joy that you all came out to welcome and support me. It indeed speaks so much about how much we yearn for a change in Anambra State,” Ozigbo said.

“We are gathered here because it is time for PDP to take over the affairs of the state and change our ugly stories for good. Unfortunately, gone are the days when we used to identify as Anambra people proudly.

“These days, many of us cannot bear the disappointment and heartbreak as Ndi Anambra continue to suffer the consequences of the bad leadership that has befallen us.

“I am restating it here today that our commitment to developing Anambra state will never be wavered by any condition.

“Since you have acknowledged that PDP is the right choice, I am urging you to pray for this project, support us, vote for us and protect your votes.

“I am assuring you that Anambra will experience massive improvement when we take over the government. We have everything needed to rebuild our dear state.

“The only thing left is to get the leadership right, and I am here to fill that leadership void,” the respected business leader concluded.

While delivering a power-packed address, the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2017 election, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, spoke highly of the PDP flag-bearers, Ozigbo and Enemo, and his confidence in their ability to deliver on the task of rebuilding Anambra State.

“Valentine Ozigbo emerged the PDP candidate after a keenly contested, free, fair and credible primary election. He has our full support and backing in this race. The good people of Idemili North are known for speaking with one mind, and we are confident that the PDP will emerge victoriously,” Obaze, a former Secretary to the Anambra State Government, said.

The lawmaker representing Idemili North and South at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Obinna Chidoka, described Ozigbo as “an excellent product that does not need advertisement to sell.”

“We are here today for Ozigbo, and I cannot thank you all enough for sparing time to come out and identify with him. We have everything needed to make a governor,” Chidoka remarked.

“Let us all go into our wards and polling units and preach the gospel of Valentine Ozigbo and Azuka Enemo. PDP remains the best and only choice for a better Anambra, and we owe it to our children to make that happen.”

Valentine Ozigbo is the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, a multinational business conglomerate, where he oversaw operations in agriculture, power, oil and gas and hospitality. Before his elevation to the Presidency of Transcorp Plc, Ozigbo served as the MD/CEO of the group’s hospitality arm, transforming it into Africa’s number one business hotel.

After over 27 years of excellence in corporate Nigeria, Ozigbo stepped down from his position to focus on the next phase of his life, which he has dedicated to public service.
