…AS CCA TIGERS REDEEM IMAGE, TRASH MILLENNIUM EAGLES TO SECURE FINAL PLACE
Week 3 of the monsoon Cup 2022 resumed in Abuja on Sunday 3rd of July, 2022 with the scheduled two games producing winners and finalists for the final game day tomorrow, Sunday, 10th July, 2022.
The first game of the day started with a disappointing performance by the CCA PANTHERS, who were trashed by the Millennium Kings.
The Millennium Kings won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 115 runs for the loss of 7 Wickets in 15 overs. The series of dropped catches by the CCA Panther’s fielding side enabled the Millennium Kings put up the above runs.
The CCA Panthers came in the second inning to chase 115 runs and needed 116 runs to win which ordinarily seemed easy to do. However, the quick fall of some of it’s most reliable batters like Rag, Regi, Duro, Ehis, Jamal and others let to the defeat of the Panthers. At the end of the chase, CCA Panthers scored 72 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 13 overs.
Top scorers for the Millennium Kings are Abishek Patel with 28 runs off 17 balls, Pushkar with 18 runs off 23 balls and Rajeev with 16 runs off 10 balls.
The Millennium Kings won the first game of Week three by 43 runs.
The second game of the day between the CCA Tigers and Millennium Eagles started at 11 am with the CCA Tigers winning the toss and opting to bat first.
At the end of 15 overs, the Tigers had put up 159 runs for the loss of 3 wickets with superlative performances by 5 batters. Muhammad Hashim scored 53 runs from 30 balls, Shantanu Raychaud scored 44 runs off 33 balls and Pantaj Kumar scored 37 runs off 13 balls.
In the second inning, the Millennium Eagles chased 159 runs needing 160 runs to win. However, the bowling side of the Tigers, consisting of Aditya, Adnan and Hashim stopped their chase at 35 runs all out in 11.4 overs.
The CCA TIGERS won by a whooping 124 runs to redeem it’s image and set up a final place against the Millennium Kings as the Monsoon Cup enters its final week tomorrow, 10th of July 2022.
The CCA PANTHERS will compete with the Millennium Eagles for third place based on Net Run Rate and as it stands, the CCA Panthers are in 3rd position.
