PETER OBI, VALENTINE OZIGBO JOIN CATHOLIC FAITHFUL IN CELEBRATING AWKA DIOCESAN CATHEDRATICUM CELEBRATION

AWKA, NIGERIA – Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, and Valentine Ozigbo, a 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Candidate, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, joined other Catholic faithful in Anambra State to celebrate this year’s Cathedraticum at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.

Mr Ozigbo, who participated in the Holy Feast to mark the Chrism Mass, praised His Lordship Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to his congregation.

“I have had the privilege of knowing Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor for many years, and I can wholeheartedly attest to his unwavering commitment, fervent zeal, and steadfastness in his calling and his tireless work for the spiritual growth and enrichment of the church,” Ozigbo told journalists after the celebration.

“His Lordship embodies grace, humility, and wisdom, serving as a guiding light for all fortunate to cross his path.

“We are deeply grateful to the Almighty for keeping him in our lives and granting us the grace and opportunity to witness this solemn ceremony, during which we can express our profound appreciation for his sterling stewardship of the Diocese,” Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, added.

Several high-ranking members of the clergy and laity attended the Holy Mass, showcasing the importance of the event and the respect that Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor commands within the Catholic community.
