President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a confirmation of the confidence the people of the state have in his leadership.
Tinubu disclosed that he personally called Adeleke on Sunday to congratulate him on his victory in the governorship election.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” the President said.
He wished Adeleke success in his second term, urging him to use his re-election to unite the people of Osun State and pursue policies that would promote growth, stability and socio-economic development.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” Tinubu said.
The President also commended the other candidates who contested the election, praising what he described as their courage and discipline and noting that their participation contributed to Nigeria’s democratic development.
According to Tinubu, the outcome of the election reflected the will of the people and demonstrated that democracy would continue to thrive in the country under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” he said.
Tinubu further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
The President urged all stakeholders to respect the outcome of the poll and support efforts to ensure continued peace, unity and development in Osun State.
