The University of Port Harcourt Alumni has felicitated with the Vice Chancellor and the entire Uniport community on its recent ranking as the 5th best University in Nigeria.
This, the Alumni insisted was made possible owing to the dynamic and visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Georgewill Owunari.
In a congratulatory message over the weekend, Ag. National President Uniport Alumni, Mr Ewitat Uduak stated that attaining the 5th position among higher institutions in Nigeria is worthy of celebrating adding that it comes as a source of great encouragement to all the stakeholders to see the University live up to its prestigious mark and uphold its academic and research credentials and also go a step further to achieve greater feats.
Signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Ono K. Akpe, added that such recognition coming from an unbiased and non-influenceable organisation should be regarded as adding more feathers to the University’s cap stressing that the flag of Uniport has being raised high above other universities in the country.
He stated that the recognition is a great achievement born out of hard work and resilience of the V.C and members of University Committee.
Also, the Uniport Alumini President described the ranking as a big plus for the University of Port harcourt and another endorsement of the University’s acclaimed commitment to excellence.
Furthermore, Congratulating the V.C, students, scholars, teachers, Heads of Departments, Deans of Schools , administrative staff , members of different bodies and other stakeholders for their hard work and dedication in enabling the institution attain such ranking, the Alumni urged them to remember that this recognition is a call for higher and more committed service to produce graduates’ who are “Unique” agents of transformation in every aspect of the society.
