Valentine Ozigbo, the Special Adviser to Mr Peter Obi on Technology and Strategic Alliances, has congratulated Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh on his installation as the pioneer Bishop of the newly created Catholic Diocese of Aguleri.
The Canonical Erection of the Catholic Diocese of Aguleri and installation of His Lordship, Bishop Isizoh as the pioneer Bishop of the new Diocese took place on March 17, 2023, at St. Joseph Cathedral, Aguleri, Anambra State, with Pope Francis representative and Nigeria’s Papal Nuncio, His Excellency, Most Rev. Antonio Guido Fillipazzi as erector and installer, alongside other concelebrating Archbishops, Bishops, and clergies.
His Excellency Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate and a former two-term governor of Anambra State; His Royal Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha; senators-elect of the Labour Party, Dr Tony Nwoye and Chief Victor Umeh were among the dignitaries at the special event.
Ozigbo, a 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Candidate, expressed his delight at the appointment of Bishop Isizoh as the pioneer Bishop of the new diocese, describing it as an excellent achievement for the Archdiocese of Onitsha, the new Diocese of Aguleri, and the state at large.
He praised Bishop Isizoh for his many years of dedicated service as a priest and Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese and expressed his confidence that the Bishop would bring his wealth of experience and academic expertise to bear on his new assignment.
Ozigbo commended the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Valarian Maduka Okeke, and the entire Archdiocesan clergies and laity for their support for Bishop Isizoh during his eight years of Episcopal ministry in the Archdiocese as an Auxiliary Bishop.
“I join millions of Catholics and well-wishers to congratulate Bishop Denis Chidi Isizoh on his installation as the pioneer Bishop of the new Diocese of Aguleri,” Ozigbo said in his congratulatory message.
“Your appointment is a testament to your dedication to the service of God and your excellent service to the Archdiocese of Onitsha. I have no doubt that you will continue to serve with distinction in your new role, and I wish you every success as you begin this new chapter in your ministry.”
Ozigbo, a multiple-award-winning global CEO, urged the people of the new Diocese of Aguleri to support Bishop Isizoh in his new assignment, saying that his appointment marked the beginning of a new era of growth and development for the Catholic Church in Anambra State.
