The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, (SMBLF), has endorsed the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, as its candidate for the February 25, 2023 general elections.

The SMBLF is made up of elder statements and leaders from Southern Nigeria and the Middle Belt.

The members are the leaders of prominent organizations such as the Pan Yoruba Socio Cultural Group, Afenifere, the Pan Niger Delta Forum, led by Edwin Clark of the South-South, and the apex Igbo socio cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and leaders of the Middle Belt

The SMBLF’s decision was taken at the end of its extraordinary meeting in Abuja on Thursday, 2nd February at the Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro.

The group’s communique was read by the immediate past President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo.
