EDO NUJ ELECTION 2021: TEAM FESTUS ALENKHE FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN

Team Festus Alenkhe, has on Monday 7th of November, flagged off his campaign ahead of the December 17th election of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Edo state council.

Team Festus Alenkhe, is made up of 4 contestants vying for different positions in the highly contested election of the pen profession in the heartbeat state.

Amongst the team, is Festus Alenkhe, of the Edo broadcasting service, End chapel, contesting for the position of the NUJ chairman, next is Andy Egbon, of the Nigerian Observer chapel, contesting for the position of the secretary, while solomon Obozunya, of the Bronze fm chapel, is contesting for the position of the Treasurer, Elvis Omoregie of the Merit Newspaper chapel, is contesting for the position of assistant secretary.

The flag off commenced on Monday morning at the union secretariat in Benin city. In his welcome address, the campaign director, comrade Massy Osunde, enjoined all interested Journalists to believe in the vision and manifesto of team Festus Alenkhe, and support them all in actualizing their vision for Edo NUJ, come December 17, and beyond when they might have won the election.

 

The chairmanship candidate, Festus Alenkhe, while addressing his supporters and other Journalists present, he thanked almighty God, for enabling it possible for them to gather for the official flag off of campaign, he added that the decision is in line with the guidelines of the electoral committee of Edo NUJ, while calling for peace and calm as the campaign progresses, the Fam leader further called on his massive supporters to desist from campaign of calumny and resist any attempt to drag them into provocation by opposing supporters, since the election is not a do or die affair but a brotherly affair and therefore, his supporters are to respond to any campaign of calumny with his manifesto.

High point of the flag off is the swearing in of campaign directors, the unveiling of the manifesto and the campaign slogan by Festus Alenkhe, the supporters were then led by him in a dance parade round the secretariat.

The team Festus Alenkhe and supporters thereafter moved to Radio Nigeria, Bronze fm and Ebs, both at Aduwawa to campaign there. And they were well received separately by the chapel members of both stations.
He told them of his manifesto which includes, a facelift for the NUJ secretariat, installation of internet WiFi that will enable Journalists access the internet free, while promising to install the free internet within 72 hours after winning the election, the Edo NUJ number 1, hopeful, further promised to facilitate training and capacity building for Journalists and also facilitate free medical check up for Journalists in the state.

Amongst notable Journalists present at the flag off is Eben Enasco, Simon, Rosemary and many other supporters and campaign directors.
